Springtown put together a nice opening drive that resulted in a touchdown and a 7-0 Springtown lead, but Graham responded quickly with a 50-yard Ben Davis touchdown run.
The Steers really began to dominate when they scored three unanswered touchdowns in a two-minute span late in the first quarter.
With 4:55 left in the first quarter, Nick Martin caught an interception and took it back to the house for a touchdown to make the score 14-7 with the Steers on top.
On the first play after the kickoff, Mikey Freeze caught an interception at the Springtown 14-yard line.
After a penalty, Davis looked to the ground again and got a 20-yard run that set up a 3-yard Davis touchdown run with 4:14 left on the clock to make the score 21-7.
Finally, with 2:53 left in the opening quarter, Davis found Dillon Gonzales for a 72-yard touchdown pass to get the Steers a commanding 28-7 lead before the first quarter had ended.
A good Steers drive to open up the second quarter would be capped off by another Davis touchdown for a 35-7 score, and just before the half, a 50- yard Gonzales run and a 30-yard Gonzales reception would set up a 6-yard Derek Sides touchdown reception to put the Steers up 42-7 with only 22 seconds left in the opening half.
The Steers final touchdown occurred with 7:58 left in the third quarter when Gonzales took the ball on a 70-yard rush.
Springtown would score on a fumble recovery for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it would be too little, too late for the Porcupines as the Steers went on to get the win.
The Steers will face the Bridgeport Bulls in Graham's homecoming at Newton Field Friday at 7:30 p.m.
