Starting Tuesday night and continuing over the next few weeks, the Graham Fire Department will aggressively address the buzzard problem in Graham using pyrotechnic blanks at the 800 block of Cherry street and the corner of Kentucky and Calaveras. The daily operation will start a few minutes before sundown with a follow up approximately one hour later if needed. This will be a non stop operation until the buzzard problem is alleviated. The process will create loud booms and a fireworks-like display. Spotters will be on site for public safety. According to City Manager Larry Fields, having the fire department handle the buzzard problem is the most efficient solution because firefighters are already required to be on the scene.
