After a special closed session during the Young County Commissioners Court meeting Monday morning, the court unanimously decided that it would take no action regarding Young County Attorney Dayne Miller, effectively leaving him in office as “County Attorney du-jour” until the 2014 general election on Nov. 4.

The court’s decision mirrors the no-action vote carried on March 13 regarding Miller’s future as Young County Attorney. The item was brought before the court after Miller, an elected county official, filed for one of the seven slots coming up on the new Graham Regional Medical Center hospital board. The action violated state law and brought into play what is called a “constructive resignation.”
