The Young County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the drowning death of a child over the weekend.

According to a press release put out by Young County Sheriff Bryan Walls, “on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at approximately 9:44 a.m., Young County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a 911 call from 243 Rambling Oaks Dr., a sub-division off of Lake Graham reporting a possible child drowning.”

The press release stated that deputies from the Young County Sheriff’s Office, along with Graham E.M.S,, responded to the call and upon arrival observed a small child lying next to a swimming pool. C.P.R. was being administered.

Graham E.M.S transported the victim, identified as Jaden Rayne Widner, to Graham Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Stan Mahler. T

he mother of the child was identified as April Hope Ramey, 31. The body was transported to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.

According to Young County Sheriff Bryan Walls, authorities have not arrested Ramey, and the investigation is ongoing pending the results of the autopsy.
