The City of Graham is hosting a low cost rabies clinic this Saturday, May 31, 2014, between 11 am and 2 p.m. at the Graham Police Department located on SH 16 ( Loving Highway) between US 380 (Newcastle Highway) and Tennessee Street.

Rabies vaccinations will be available for $10 per pet. Three cases of rabies have been confirmed in Graham thus far this year. Another seven animals exhibiting signs of rabies have yet to be confirmed, but are suspicious.

-Dogs and cats in the city are required to have proof of current vaccination in accordance with Section 5 of the city code.

-Please do not feed cats or dogs in locations where wild or potentially infected animals can access the food.

-Rabies can be transmitted from an infected animal to a domestic animal through sharing food.

-Do not handle or approach any wild animal or stray animal.

-Infected animals may not exhibit signs of the disease or may appear to have no or reduced fear of humans.

-Supervise your children and pets when they are outside, even in a fenced yard.

-Report any suspicious animal.
