Obituary PolicyIt is the policy of The Graham Leader to publish complimentary obituaries edited for uniform content and style. Complimentary obituaries may contain information about the deceased as provided above.Obituaries containing additional and/or extraneous information required by either the attending mortuary or the family of the deceased will be published only as a paid advertisement at The Graham Leader's open retail display rate. Paid obituaries will be boxed, set in the same typeface as courtesy obituaries and published in close proximity to courtesy obituaries. Refusal of payment will result in the publication of courtesy obituary information only. Extraneous information shall include, but shall not be limited to:• All text for which editing by the newspaper is refused.• Bible verses and/or religious references.• Names of fiance, “significant other” and/or “life partner.”• Spouse(s) of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.• Names of nieces, nephews, cousins and other distant relatives and their spouse(s).• Names of pets.• Hobbies and/or pastimes.• Private matters of significance only to the family.• Public accolades and/or recognition for personal achievement.• Profanity and/or profane references.• Pallbearers, honorary pallbearers.• Other non-traditional information.
