Wednesday, July 1
Bible Study
Saint Michael’s Estates will host a Bible study at 10 a.m. each Wednesday in its community room. The study is open to the community. Bring a Bible and join in. For information, call (940) 521-0494.
Tharpo the Clown
Tharpo the Clown will perform at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Graham Education and Workforce Center. Tharpo mimes, juggles and more. For information, call (972) 889-7777.
Lions Club Luncheon
The week’s Graham Noon Lions Club luncheon will be at noon Wednesday in the American Legion Hall. The meeting will feature a patriotic talk by U.S. Air Force Col. Knox Bishop. The American Volunteer Reserve will explain the folds of the flag during a flag folding ceremony. All area Lions and their families and friends are invited to attend.
Art Exhibit
An exhibit featuring artwork by Marie Neudorf will be displayed until Friday, July 31, at Midwestern State University Museum and Art Gallery located at 2 Eureka Circle in Wichita Falls. Museum hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Saturday.
GJHS Trip
Any Graham Junior High School student who plans to travel to New York City and Washington D.C. in the summer of 2010 is encouraged to contact Mrs. Joyce at (940) 549-1151, before registering. Changes have been made that will lower the cost. Those who have already registered may contact Mrs. Joyce for an update.
Friday, July 3
Masons Award
Johnathan Southerland, Master of Young County Masonic Lodge No. 485 AF & Am announces an open called meeting at 4 p.m. Friday at the Young County Masonic Lodge Hall. The lodge will present the Golden Trowel Award, the highest honor awarded to a Mason by the Graham Lodge of Texas. The public, all Masons, family and friends are invited.
Loving Fireworks
The Loving Community Center invites you to join them for “Fireworks at the Center,” Bring fireworks at 7:30 p.m. Saturday where folks will enjoy a fireworks display after dark. There will be a concession stand available. Fee is $1.00 per person with preschoolers free. No coolers.
Abernathy Ex-Students
The Abernathy Ex-Students Association will host a reunion for everyone who has attended Abernathy school during the week of July 3-5. All past and present teachers are welcome. There will be individual class reunions and a general assembly on Saturday afternoon, July 4. Pancake Breakfast
The Kiwanis Club of Graham will host its 4th of July Pancake Breakfast at 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at the American Legion Building. The cost is $6 per person for all you can eat. Kids under 5 eat free.
Flea and Tick Dip
Humane Society of Young County will offer a flea and tick dip from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday and every Saturday thereafter at the shelter. Cost is $5 for spayed or neutered animals and $10 for non-spayed or non-neutered animals. For information, call (940) 549-1692.
TEA Party
A TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party will begin immediately following the Independence Day parade Saturday on the Young County Courthouse lawn. The TEA Party is a national movement to protest the government’s spending of trillions of dollars. For information, call Gina Winn at (817) 266-2525.
Wichita Tea Party
A Texoma area-wide tea party rally will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Johnson Hotel, located between Fourth and Fifth streets, at Broad Street. The event will feature live entertainment, speakers, special guests and fireworks. Those interested in attending may bring lawn chairs. Karaoke Canceled
Karaoke Night at the Jermyn Community Center will be canceled Saturday, July 4, due to the holiday.
Tuesday, July 7
Art Class
Mark Nesbitt will teach art classes for adults from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, July 7-10, at the Old Post Office Museum and Art Center. Cost is $70. Class is limited. To register, call (940) 549-1470 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Immunization Clinic
The Texas Department of State Health Services will conduct an immunization clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, in the McCree Hall of First United Methodist Church. There are new requirements for kindergarten and seventh grade. The Hepatitis A immunization, Meningococcal and HPV vaccines and all school and infant immunizations including Pediarix, Tdap, DtaP, Polio, Hib, MMR, Hepatitis B, Prevnar, Varicella and Hepatitis A are available. DSHS uses a sliding fee scale for payment. Nobody is denied services due to inability to pay. For information, call (940) 574-2159 prior to 4 p.m. the day of the clinic.

Registration is open for summer II classes beginning Friday, July 10 - Monday, July 13, at North Central Texas College in Graham. Corvette Show
The Wichita County Area Corvette Association will come to Graham Saturday, July 11, to exhibit their cars around the Young County Courthouse Square at 3 p.m. Graham area Corvette owners are encouraged to bring their Corvettes to the square. The club will “make the drag” through Graham and conclude an evening meal at Vetonis.
Loving Jamboree
The Loving Jamboree will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Loving Community Center. Cost is $2. A concession stand and door prizes will be available.
Canceled
The Saint Jo Opry has been canceled Saturday, July 11. It will resume Saturday, Aug. 8.
30th GHS Reunion
Graham High School class of 1978, 1979 and 1980 will have a class reunion at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Young County Arena. For information on former classmates, or to RSVP and pay for the meal, call Jonni Hughes Wray at (940) 549-5158 (all meals must be pre-paid).
