Edward Jones collecting school supplies
Darby Brockway, an Edward Jones financial advisor in Graham, is supporting Graham ISD by using his office as a drop-off location for a school supplies drive.
Local residents and businesses may help those less fortunate in the community by bringing in items to the Edward Jones branch office during regular business hours from Aug. 17-31.
The branch is locates at 501 Fourth St.
“We’re asking Graham residents to donate school supplies or volunteer their time,” Brockway said. “These donations can add value as one more student will be provided with the appropriate tools to begin or continue his or her learning and development.”
Clogging classes offered in Breckenridge
The Breckenridge Hotfooter Cloggers will offer clogging classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced students at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday in Breckenridge.
The dance club meets at 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at 109 N. Baylor St. The group of cloggers performs regularly in Breckenridge and area towns. For information, call Shirley Anderson at (254) 559-2567 or (254-246-1972).
Newcastle meet-the-teacher night Monday
Newcastle School will host Meet the Teacher Night on Monday, Aug. 17, beginning at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
Additionally, sixth through 12th graders can pick up of their schedules from 6 to 7 p.m. The 2008-09 yearbooks may be picked up.
Democrat women to meet Monday in Olney
Texas Democratic Women of Young County will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Fort Belknap Electric Cooperative Conference Center located at 1302 West Main St. in Olney.
J.C. Mathiews, president of Texas and Midwestern Consultants Company, will lead a discussion on rural economic development.
