Graham Police Officer Kyle Ford arrested six people for drug possession Saturday.
According to Police Chief Tony Widner, Ford observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Cherry Street shortly before 4 a.m.
“He stopped it for a traffic violation. When he spoke to the driver he was acting very nervous so he asked him to step out of the vehicle,” said Widner.
Once out of the car, Ford patted down the subject and felt an object in his pocket. The subject told the officer it was marijuana.
A subsequent search found that passenger Tyler Buschmann, 25, was in possession of prescription pills. He was charged and arrested for possession of a controlled substance under 28 grams.
Another passenger was arrested on a justice of the peace warrant.
Ford found marijuana located in the vehicle and all of the other passengers were charged with misdemeanor possession.
“I think he did good work. Based on his level of alertness and professionalism with the way he conducted himself, he was able to take more illegal substances off the streets,” said Widner.
