Beatles Experience concert coming to Graham

One of Branson’s most popular shows will include Graham on its winter tour when “Liverpool Legends — The Ultimate Beatles Experience” takes the stage on Friday, Jan. 22, at Graham Memorial Auditorium.
The concert features four men who look and sound amazingly like the original “Fab Four.” In fact, they are so similar in their performance, they’ve got the backing of Louise Harrison, sister of former Beatle George Harrison.
Liverpool Legends have been named “Best Band” and “Best Show” in Branson twice in the past three years.
The band’s show is a complete tribute to the Beatles, covering both the early years as well as the later years of the most popular group in rock ‘n roll history. They act, sing and play just like the Beatles, complete with authentic costumes and instruments.
“Everything is performed live,” said Louise Harrison. “There is nothing pre-recorded.”
Harrison herself hand-picked the four to portray the Beatles in concert. There is also a “fifth Beatle” on keyboards, who helps the band recreate many well-known hits, including some that the Beatles themselves never performed live.
This will be the Liverpool Legends first time to perform in Graham. Joe Graham, manager of Lake Country Radio, which is sponsoring the event, expects a big response.
“This community has shown they will support these kinds of shows,” says Graham. “Normally a show like this plays in larger cities when they’re on tour. The fact that we were able to get them to come here is something to be proud of. The fan base for Beatles music just keeps growing, even though it’s been almost 40 years since the band broke up.”
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $20 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at the radio station office, 620 Oak St. in Graham. There are a limited number of reserved VIP seats for $25. Those, and all credit card orders, are available only by phone at (405) 243-7252, without service charges or handling fees.
January, it seems, is a fitting time for a tribute to the Beatles. It was in January 1964 that Beatlemania came to America, with “I Want To Hold Your Hand” hitting number one on the Billboard Top 40 chart for seven consecutive weeks. Later in the year, the Beatles would own all of the top five spots on the charts at once, something that’s never been duplicated by any recording artist.
Anyone wishing to find out more about the show can log on to the band’s Web site at www.liverpoollegends.com.
