Family, Consumer and Career Leaders of America students of Graham High School made their way to Dallas April 11-13 to participate in the state FCCLA competition and meeting. Jima Harrelson and Cheryl Sides worked as chairmen on the Focus on Children event. LEO test competitors were Charles Horton and Maddy Montfort, who both received medals. Seniors Kris Smith and Colton Bruce had practiced for weeks for their presentation that they gave to judges on a gluten-free dessert product in the food innovation competition. Senior division contestants Gennie Hamilton and Sarah Marsh presented a program on bully awareness in the illustrated talk competition, and placed sixth overall. Madison Hamm, Grace Windham and Juan Arredondo competed in the chapter showcase event and placed second in their division. They will travel this summer to Nashville, Tenn., to compete at the National FCCLA competition.
