Through a cooperative effort between Graham Regional Medical Center and the GRMC Auxiliary, the hospital has implemented No One Dies Alone, a program that provides the reassuring presence of trained volunteers to dying patients who would otherwise be alone.

With the support of the bedside care staff, the volunteers, known as GRMC Auxiliary Compassion Companions, provide patients with the one of the most valuable of human gifts: a dignified death.

GRMC Auxiliary Compassion Companions will also provide respite care, in a program called No One Stays Alone. The program offers similarly trained volunteers who will sit with patients for a short time when a family member becomes exhausted from their bedside vigil and needs to rest or tend to other pressing family needs.

For more information on  programs or the auxiliary, call Mary Braddock (940) 549-2786.
