Joe Finfrock, pastor of Oak Street Baptist Church, managed to combine running the 5K Run for Children with making Graham more beautiful.

As a Keep Graham Beautiful member, Finfrock picked up litter during the race. He was picking up paper cups in front of Graham High School when two GHS students, Joseph Bleeker and Zealand Culpepper, approached him. He was surprised that two young men would stop running to help pick up litter. They said that they wanted to help because they were proud of GHS.

The pastor said that the “team” of runners picked up so much trash that after the first mile, the trash bag holder broke and they started filling hte second bag.

Fiinfrock said that not only did the KGB team finish the race, but they went the  biblical ‘second mile' in making Graham more attractive for other runners, spectators and citizens.
