It's impossible to keep a good peanut patty a secret.

Five years ago Marinda Brown began making batches of her family's favorite holiday treat and selling them to area restaurants and other places.

The part-time, business-from-home enterprise she calls Rinda's Peanut Patties has developed mainly by word of mouth.

You can imagine Brown's surprise one morning when she got a phone call, saying that there was a photo of Gov. Rick Perry was holding one of her peanut patties, on Facebook.

Rep. Drew Spinger choose to bring Rinda's Peanut Patties to represent this district during the Taste of Texas in Austin.
