Ted and Sandra Boedeker have traveled from the bottom to the top of the globe and many places in-between.
When the Boedekers first moved to Graham in 1967, the item at the top of their bucket list was to visit every one of the 254 counties in Texas. They reached their goal in 1995 when they went to Zapata County.
The couple’s next destinations included all 50 states in the United States and eight of the 10 provinces in Canada. After that, they visited every continent in the world minus Africa.
In late July, the Boedekers set sail on a 35-day cruise, stopping at ports surrounding the Baltic Sea, including Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Russia. Then they headed to the Arctic Circle, but because of the countless miles of ice surrounding the North Pole, they stopped 622 miles south at the Polar Ice Cap. Their ship also anchored at the northernmost community inhabited by man, Ny-Alesund.  Check out the full feature in this weekend's Graham Leader.
