Doc Cox is making a journey across the United States for fallen veterans and putting the spotlight upon veterans with PTSD.

On this trip, Cox was headed for Fort Benning, Ga., to be there for the 20th anniversary of Black Hawk Down. Thanks to the invitation of Jon Van Winkle, the founder of Freedom Care Warrior Project, he took a detour to Graham to attend the Kick Some Bass Fishing Tournament.

In Graham, Cox met veterans he instantly bonded with, men like David Nolette, a retired American Volunteer Reserve and FCWP member.

Cox has already riden 2,000 miles from Fort Lewis, Wash., and is headed to Fort Benning, Ga. He plans to arrive in time for the 20th anniversary of Black Hawk Down on Oct. 3. (Read the rest of the  story in the Sept. 25 edition of The Graham Leader.)
