The Chalupa Luncheon, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3, is right around the corner.
The annual fundraiser hosted by Graham Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will take place on the lawn in front of the Young County Courthouse. The morning will begin with a bake sale at 10 a.m. Be sure to stock up on food prepared by some of the best cooks in town. Choose from homemade cookies, brownies, German chocolate cakes and other favorites, cinnamon rolls, cakes, pies and casseroles.
The luncheon itself will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For only $5, attendees will dine on chalupas with all the trimmings, including homemade beans and meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese guacamole, hot sauce, sour cream and jalapenos. Top off the meal with iced tea and a piece of homemade chocolate sheath cake.
Every member of the auxiliary bakes two cakes each in order to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.
The GRMC Gift Shop will sell seasonal decorative goodies in time to be ready for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This year they are also holding a drawing for holiday favorites: a witch and an Old World stuffed santa. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5.
They may be purchased from the auxiliary gift shop or at the luncheon, and winners don’t have to be present to win.
