NCTC holds pinning ceremony for LVN grads

North Central Texas College’s Graham campus held its 2016 Licensed Vocational Nurse pinning ceremony Aug. 9 for students in this year’s LVN program. Family, friends, faculty and staff celebrated the success of graduates Jordon Acuña, Kortney Anderson, Brittney Cook, Jessica Daniel, Craig Danz, Brittany Gonzalez, Hannah Graf, Brian Griffin, Amber Higginbotham, Jessie Elizabeth Hill, Kelsey Joyce, Laura Martinez, Christi McDaniel, Chloe Osteen and Amanda Sallee. During the ceremony, Sallee gave the welcome address. Michelle Hall, director of nursing at Graham Regional Medical Center, was keynote speaker. Teressa Borden, LVN coordinator, presented awards to students. Vickie Belt and Nick Bixby, LVN instructors, placed LVN pins onto graduates. Bixby presented the Florence Nightingale Award to Laura Martinez, who also held a 4.0 grade-point-average the entire duration of her program. Belt awarded Hannah Graf with the Heart of Nursing Award. The LVN class of 2016 then recited the Florence Nightingale pledge, and McDaniel closed the ceremony with a prayer. Courses for the LVN class of 2017 begin Aug. 22.
