Graham ISD school board members voted to increase lunch prices at this week's meeting.

Assistant Superintendent Don Davis said because the district receives federal funding for free and reduced lunches, it is required to provide the same level of support for lunches served to students who are not eligible for free or reduced price lunches. Davis added that the district's auditors recommended a price increase for this year.

The item was tabled at last month's meeting because Trustee Peggy Sonnenberg was interested in knowing what the cost would be if the school subsidized the funding requirement instead of increasing prices. Davis said the options would be to increase the price to meet federal guidelines or it would cost an estimated $7,000 to $10,000 each year the district is not in compliance.
