Jim Burkett was voted to be the new president of the Old Post Office Museum and Art Center during its annual meeting May 2. He replaces Jay Burkett, who held the office for three years. Darrell Weatherbee received the nomination and approval for first vice-president. Other officers continuing to serve are Danny Parker, second vice-president; Reba Schlittler, secretary; and Annie Bell Burdick, treasurer.

The long awaited completion of a new roof for the OPOMAC has reached completion. The project was overseen by buidling committee chairman Weatherbee and Bruce Street.

Museum director Marlene Edwards said that all the OPOMAC exhibits had drawn widespread interest from the community and from tourists, but the history of the GPD and GFR show seemed to strike a chord with Graham residents  — especially those with family who served in the first organizations.
