At about 8 p.m. Friday, a tornado was confirmed in the Eliasville area, and at least one home was destroyed and trees uprooted. Other damage from the tornado, hail and high winds was wide-spread. Another tornadic cell formed near South Bend, and the area was hit with heavy rains.

The severe weather advisory for Young and Stephens counties expired at 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 17. Remnants of the storm were moving east and dissapating by 10 p.m. Friday.

However, a flood advisory is in effect in northeastern Stephens County and southeastern Young County until 11:45 p.m.

Additionally, thunderstorms remain a possibility for the entire north-central Texas region throughout the weekend.

No injuries have been reported.
