The school offers a variety of classes that are suitable for many careers. Subjects of study include agriculture, art, biology, chemistry, college prep English, college prep math, college prep reading, computer science, dance, drama, economics, education (associate of arts in teaching), English, equine science, foreign language, government, history, humanities, learning framework, mathematics, music, philosophy, physical education, physics, psychology, sociology and speech. Additionally, the campus offers academic transfer courses, vocational nursing (LVN), oil and gas production technology, allied health certificate programs and lifelong learning programs.
Lifelong Learning includes short lectures and longer technique-learning classes.
“Lifelong Learning believes that the expertise and audience are present in Graham to build a solid community education program,” said Brandy Fausel, NCTC Lifelong Learning community education coordinator.
The classes vary throughout the semester. The latest Lifelong Learning Program offered is Cooking With Friends. The class will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, July 29.
Students will create five simple dishes in three hours in the NCTC kitchen with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent Instructor Penny Warren. All food for the class will be provided. Students must bring containers to carry home their meals, which are freezer-friendly. The fee for the class is $99. Enrollment deadline is Monday, July 22.
