Graham Public Works Director David Casteel reported that the stage 5 water restrictions have been lifted as of 1 p.m. today, Wedensday, Aug. 28.
He added that one more item of work remains to be performed on this line that will result in a reduction of available water. But that work will be planned for cooler weather when demand is not as high and thus should not require any restrictions at that time.
Barring unforeseen issues, the city of Graham is returning to stage 1 restrictions which consist of voluntary twice per week lawn watering schedules.

Casteel said city officials thank water customers for their assistance in this process.
"A 50 percent reduction in use was achieved and a more serious situation was averted thanks to you," he said.
