Change is a large part of everyone’s life; either good or bad, having an upbeat positive attitude can affect the way one deals with that change. Today in the Hot Seat, we visit with the second baseman for the Lady Blues, Jaimey Hearne, who seems to live the life motto “Let your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile!”
Q: What do you think the biggest change will be going from your junior to senior year at GHS and what event are looking forward to the most?
A: Honestly I think the biggest change going from junior year to senior year is knowing that everything I do will be the last time I have the opportunity to do it, like cheering in my last pep rally or playing my last softball game. I’m not ready for the “last time” moments. What I am looking forward to the most is definitely my last year of cheerleading; this year is going to be even more special because I am captain with my best friend!
Q: What makes you smile?
A: I really enjoy the little things life has to offer, like playing with my dogs, eating ice cream, and funny movies. Pretty much anything can make me smile, and I love to make others smile too!
Q: With all the political upheaval in the Ukraine right now and the recent Arab spring, what’s a simple way to achieve world peace?
A: I thought only beauty queens talked about world peace?
Q: You’ve been picked to compete on The Amazing Race on CBS – who is your partner and why?
A: I would have to say Coach Irby. He always lifts me up when I start to fall and he has the ability to push me past what I think my limits are. He makes me want to be the best I possibly can, and then more.
Q: With the summer approaching rather quickly, what’s your game plan for staying cool?
A: I really enjoy swimming and just relaxing by the pool, as well as going to the lake. Don’t get me wrong though, I plan to be a typical teenager and sleep until the afternoon and watch hours of Netflix!
Q: What’s your best memory from your childhood?
A: Probably going hunting with my daddy or riding horses all the time at my grandparents with my sisters and cousins.
