AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The Texas Safety Summit will focus on workplace issues such as distracted driving and who's responsible for wrecks.
The Texas Department of Insurance sponsors the event that runs Tuesday through Thursday in Austin.
Two companies will be honored Wednesday for their occupational safety and health programs.
The Texas Department of Insurance says CFAN (see-fan) Co. makes turbine fan blades and other components for General Electric jet engines at its facility in San Marcos. BeautiControl manufactures cosmetics, creams and skin treatments at its facility in Carrollton.
Gov. Rick Perry has proclaimed May as Occupational Safety and Health Month.
