The issue of office space is a growing concern in Young County, as more documents are produced each year with no solution yet on where to house them.
Graham county commissioners are exploring their options regarding the growing need for office space in the courthouse.
The commissioner added that the problem is not limited to the county courthouse, and is pervasive throughout most government offices.
Still, not all government buildings are having space issues, especially newer structures built to sustain document growth.
“We’re really not experiencing what the courthouse is because we’re in a five-year-old building,” said Young County Sherriff Bryan Walls. “When they built our jail, they built it with enough space to account for all of the space we would need.”
