Early voting for the general and Graham local option election begins Monday in Young County at North Central Texas College and the Olney Community Library.

All Republican candidates in Young County local elections are running unopposed, and this includes the 90th Judicial District candidates. Current State Rep. Drew Springer – for District 68 in which Young County is located – is also running unopposed.

The local option election included on the ballot is for the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption in Graham.

Young County voters may cast ballots at either early voting site during early voting, and at any of the five sites on election day, but one must be a city of Graham resident to vote in the local option election.

Young County’s District 19 U.S. Congressional seat has three candidates: Republican Jodey Arrington), Libertarian Troy Bonar and Mark Lawson of the Green Party.

The dates and times for early voting are:

• North Central Texas College, 928 Cherry St. in Graham at these dates and times: Oct. 24-28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 29 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Oct. 31- Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Olney Community Library, 807 W. Hamilton St., from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Oct. 24-28 and Oct. 31-Nov. 4.

The Graham local option election for the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption will be held alongside the presidential election on Nov. 8. While Young County voters may cast ballots at either site during early voting, one must be a city of Graham resident to vote in the local option election.
