More questions than answers in deaths of deputy, son

A Graham man and his adult son were found dead at a Cherry St. house Thursday morning. Police were called at 10:36 a.m. to a report of “unattended death” at the home in the 1300 block of Cherry Street. The deceased are Joseph E. “Joey” Parker, 61, a retired Graham Police Department officer employed by the Young County Sheriff’s Department at the time of his death. Also slain was Parker’s son, Kensy L. Parker, 27, also of Graham. The men were found in Joseph Parker’s home. Investigators discovered the mens’ bodies in a bedroom and each had an apparent single gunshot wound. A weapon was recovered at the scene. The Texas Rangers and Young County Sheriff’s department also arrived at the home to assist GPD with the investigation. According to a GPD press release, the circumstances surrounding the deaths are currently under investigation. Leading the investigation is GPD Sgt. Chris Denney, with the assistance of the Texas Rangers. Joseph Parker had lived in Young County since the age of 6 and also had two daughters, according to stories in the Graham Leader archives.
