Alfred Smith, 89, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, in Graham. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Alfred was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Ohio County, Ken., to the late George Irvin and Ollie Belle (Lewis) Smith. He married Margie (Allen) Thornbrue on Jan. 21, 1974, in Springfield, Tenn. Alfred was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, and he retired from real estate investments.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Smith of Graham; daughters, Georgie Gibbs and husband Jerry of Burleson and Glenda Reeves and husband Don of Graham; son, Carl D. Thronbrue and wife Donna of Graham; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Aubrey Smith of Pulliman, Mich., and Waymon Smith of Owensboro, Ken.
