Johnny V. George, 53, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Wichita Falls. A funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. A burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Johnny was born Dec. 11, 1959, in Wichita Falls to James Franklin and Wanda Yvonne Vanhooser George. He attended West Texas State and Texas Tech University on a track scholarship and was a service man for J & M Oilfield Service in Wichita Falls. Johnny officiated for Texas Association of Sports Officials in High School Football for 20 years.


He was preceded in death by grandparents, Vernon and Ethel George and Johnny and Helen Vanhooser; and nephew, Jason Rivas.

Survivors include his mother, Wanda George of Wichita Falls; father, Jim George and wife Ethel of Wichita Falls; sisters, Melodie Menasco and husband John, Sandra George, Ronda Hall and Ladona Lewis, all of Wichita Falls; brother, Mike Lewis and wife Tammie of Wichita Falls; two nephews; a niece; and several cousins. Johnny was also survived by special friends who will be serving as pallbearers, Brad Bowen, Smokey Burgess, Michael K. Oliver, Mike Oliver, Van George and Monte Yancey.
