Gayle Florence Burleson of Jacksboro was born Oct. 9, 1938, to Hershal and Bessie (Smith) Ross in Jacksboro. She passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, in Knoxville, Tenn. She was 75 years old. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Live Oak Baptist Church with burial following in Cottonwood Cemetery.
Gayle was a licensed vocational nurse who touched many in her life as she worked at the Jacksboro and Graham hospitals and for Dr. Berry.
She also worked at the Concerned Citizens in Jacksboro greeting everyone with a warm smile. Most of all, she was a woman of God and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carol Owen.
Among the many who will miss her dearly include her daughter, Stephina Browning and husband Kenny of Buffalo Springs; sons, Glen Burleson and Mike Burleson, both of Jacksboro; daughters, Theresa Burleson and Leann Mercer and husband Bobby, all of Jacksboro, Shelia Ogle and husband Lee Jr. of San Angelo; brother-in-law, Curtis Owen; brother, Charles Ross; sister, Lorretta Ross; grandchildren, Marci Burleson Harrell, Chris Burleson, Brandy Ogle Partlow, Latisha Ogle Childers, Kurtis Browning, Kelsey Browning and Brandon Mercer; great-grandchildren, Gabe Burleson, Danielle Burleson, Hayden Burleson, Jayden Harrell, Zoe Harrell, Brennan Partlow, Braxton Partlow, Bralyn Partlow and Breana Childers; and many other extended family members and friends.
