Edgar "Ed" Lynn Harmon, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed to the Lord on June 12, 2014.

Ed passed away peacefully in Colorado City, Texas.

A memorial service honoring Ed will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Dorn Methodist Chapel in Colorado City with the Rev. James Williams officiating.

Ed was born in Plainview to Clifford and Nadine (Harrison) Harmon on Sept. 14, 1927.

The Harmon Family moved to Laguna Beach, California, in the early 1930s. Ed spent his early life in Southern California attending Franklin High School in Highland Park before enlisting in the Navy during WW2.

When the war ended, he came back home and asked the love of his life, Virginia “Ginny” Marie Williams, to be his wife.

On June 8, 1947, Ed and Ginny became husband and wife at a ceremony performed at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Ed and Ginny lived in Southern California, raising five children before being transferred to Texas.

Ed was a shy and humble man who never met a stranger.

He and Ginny owned “The Good Old Days” antique store in  downtown Colorado City.

They enjoyed meeting the residents and out-of-town people each and every day. Ed was a member of the Dorn Methodist Church.

He loved the fellowship and the Spirit filled messages each and every week.

Ed will be missed by many. Our lives were touched and complete knowing him.
