John B. Ratcliff, of Iowa Park and formerly of Graham, passed away at his home the morning of Feb. 13, 2017. Born Dec. 23, 1930 to the family of James Miller Ratcliff and wife Myrtle Carson Ratcliff of Graham, he attended schools and graduated high school in Graham, attended East Central State College of Ada, Okla., attaining a bachelor of science degree in education and a master’s degree in mathematics, and taught schools in Wichita Falls and Iowa Park, retiring in 1985. John met his lifetime soulmate, Patsy Lee Denton of Cisco, and they married April 21, 1951. In 1959 he joined the Air Force, serving at Walker Air Force Base in New Mexico, French Morocco, in North Africa, and then Fairfield Air Force Base in Washington. Private graveside services will be held at the Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park on Saturday, Feb. 18. Funeral services are Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park. Surviving relatives include his wife of 66 years, Pat Ratcliff of Iowa Park; son, Terry Ratcliff and Liz of Wichita Falls; daughter Sharon Grimes and Terry of Rockdale; daughter Rita Bouvesett and Mike of Electra; son, James Darren Ratcliff and Robin of Austin; a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Dolly and Frank Nunley of Wichita, Kansas. His passing was preceded by one son, Darrell Bruce Ratcliff, parents, brothers and sisters.
