Lloyd F. Swiger

Lloyd F. Swiger, 87, found peace and comfort in his heavenly home, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in Wichita Falls.  A Graveside funeral will be held Saturday, 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Mena, Arkansas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.


Lloyd was born February 8, 1929 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Roy H. and Maud E. (Roop) Swiger.  He graduated as a Bearcat from Mena High School and went on to have many adventures serving in the U.S. Air Force.  He served as a mechanic, a weather tech, and later as an instructor for the Air Force.  He retired as a Master Sargent after 20 years.


Lloyd married Pat O’Neill, November 3, 1951 in Mena, Arkansas.  She preceded him in death on, November 3, 2008.  He travelled the world serving his country while proudly supporting his wife and three sons.  He settled in Graham in 1967 to continue raising his family.  Lloyd worked for many years with Lindsay’s Air Conditioning and retired in 2000.  He was a founding member of Memorial Christian Church in Graham.  Lloyd spent his spare time gardening, wood working and playing with his grandchildren.


Survivors include; sons, Clint Swiger and wife Diane of Graham, Richard Swiger of Krum, Dennis Swiger and wife Terri of Mansfield; brother, Bill Swiger of Nebraska; four grandchildren, Krissy Redding, Amy Huffman, Eric Swiger, and Matthew Swiger; also surviving are seven great grandchildren.


Lloyd was preceded in death by a grandson and a brother.


Visitation was held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
