Eddie R. Plemons

Eddie passed away peacefully at his home in Graham on July 3, 2022.

Eddie was born to Bertie May and Eddie Plemons Sr. in Vernon Texas, on Nov. 21, 1941.

He graduated from Graham High School with the class of 1960 and later served in the U.S. Army.

Eddie lived and worked in California for many years, primarily in Yosemite National Park.

Etta Mae Wood

Etta Mae Wood, 86, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Graham.

Etta was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Graham, to the late Edward Leslie and Effie Mae (Paris) Holcomb. She was a phone operator for Southwestern Bell and later enjoyed her time as a nurse for Graham Regional Medical Center. She loved cooking and the Texas Rangers.

Survivors include: daughter, Janet Abernathy and husband, David of Willis; son, Wayne Wood of Graham; sister, Nevelyn Montgomery of Seymour; grandchildren, Derek, Ronny, Cody, and numerous great grandchildren.

Betty Jo Moore Rowell

Betty Jo Moore Rowell slipped away to the land where spirits fly on July 2, 2022, in Graham. Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Morrison Funeral Home. Burial followed in Pioneer Cemetery.

She had a full and blessed life of service to God and the People around her. We are grateful to have had her in our lives for so long, and delighted she is now with the Mighty Lord she so often spoke of and, all her loved ones that preceded her departure. We want to thank all her family and friends for the many visits and prayers. She is finally whole and at peace.

Sylvia Byerly

Sylvia Byerly, 69, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 in Ft. Collins, Colorado.

Sylvia was born in Graham, Texas to the late Walter and Mary Jane Byerly. She graduated from Graham High School then attended Texas Tech. She was passionate about her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

She is survived by one daughter Beraiah Logan and husband Alex of Anchorage, Alaska; one sister Jan Crow and husband John of Graham, Texas; one brother Scott Byerly of Graham, Texas.

Walter Wayne Singleton Sr.

Walter Wayne Singleton Sr., 77, passed away at his home in Graham on June 20, 2022. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Morningside Baptist Church under the direction of McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Morningside Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Joyce McGehee

Joyce McGehee, 97, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, in Graham. Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2022, in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Cottonwood Cemetery in Jack County.  Joyce laid in state Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.

Joyce was born April 29, 1925, in Graham, to the late Edith (Myers) McGehee and James Dewey McGehee.  She graduated from Bryson High School and remained a lifetime resident of Bryson. Joyce worked for the Bryson School District in the cafeteria for many years.

Robert Carl McFarlane

Robert Carl McFarlane passed away on May 12, 2022, with his family gathered at his side. Born in Washington, DC on July 12, 1937, he was the son of William Doddridge McFarlane, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the 13th District of Texas and Alma Carl McFarlane who lived in Graham, where Bud lived until 1945, when the family moved to Washington. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, DC, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1959.

Virginia Lou Clay

Virginia Lou Stewart was born to the late Charlie D. And Nancy Stewart in Quanah, Oct. 22, 1939. Virginia was blessed to be the last of 11 children born to Charlie and Nancy. After being raised in a loving Christian home, Virginia’s faith was strong and very enduring.
