While there might have been some technical difficulties with the microphone before the start of the Graham volleyball game Tuesday night, there wasn’t much else hindering the Lady Blues on Senior Night. Thanks to a balanced offensive attack in the opening set, the Lady Blues were able to carry their momentum and turn it into a sweep of the Vernon Lady Lions, assuring them of no worse than a share of the district title with Burkburnett. As a result of a tie in the district standings, the Lady Blues and the Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to meet in a seeding game to decide the playoff spots Friday night in Windthorst. In the opening set of the night, the Lady Blues were in control early, jumping out to a 4-0 advantage. After Vernon got to within one at 4-3, Graham went on a 3-0 run to force the Lady Lions coaching staff to call a timeout. Graham would go on another run, extending its advantage to 17-10, forcing Vernon to call its final timeout of the first set. It was smooth sailing the rest of the way for the Lady Blues as they closed out the set with an 8-5 run, resulting in a 25-15 win. For the rest of this story, subscribe to our print or online edition.
