The Victoria Advocate ( http://bit.ly/19nlgI8) reports a DeWitt County grand jury on Dec. 16 indicted 39-year-old Lisa Moravitz. She was fired in May 2012 as Cuero (KWER'-oh) city secretary.
Records show Moravitz was arrested Saturday on two counts of unlawfully intercepting and using electronic communications. She's free on $50,000 bond.
District Attorney Michael Sheppard says Moravitz was charged with passing police information to "people who shouldn't have it." He added Tuesday the information related to a drug investigation and that the safety of informants was compromised.
Messages left for Moravitz weren't immediately returned Tuesday.
Moravitz and Cuero in 2007 settled a federal lawsuit she filed claiming harassment and other allegations.
