Hutchins, who is back playing after recovering from Hodgkin's lymphoma last year, replaces Chris Kermode in the role. Kermode recently was hired as the new chairman of the ATP.
Hutchins organized a charity tennis match—Rally Against Cancer—on finals day during the 2013 Queen's Club tournament and raised more than 300,000 pounds ($500,000).
Kermode says in a statement on Wednesday "the way Ross threw himself into organizing the charity match last year at a time when he was going through chemotherapy, was an inspiration. Everyone likes Ross, and his drive, determination, passion and positive attitude will ensure he is a huge success in this role."
