Graham ISD Superintendent Sonny Cruse announced this week during a Facebook livestream that the district has received permission to host live high school graduation on its originally scheduled date, May 22.

“I’m very pleased to tell everyone that we are going to have somewhat of a traditional graduation,” Cruse said in a livestream hosted by Graham Chamber of Commerce CEO Krisa De La Cruz. “That’s something that Mr. (Joe) Gordy and I have been talking about since this whole thing started. We went through a lot of ‘what-ifs’ (...) I submitted a couple of draft proposals to our city manager, Mr. Brandon Anderson, who then shared it with other community leaders, as well as our county health official, Dr. Martin (...) both proposals have been approved.”

As high school seniors will not be able to take part in the traditional senior walk through the elementary schools, Cruse and Gordy have come up with a reverse parade.
