Rotary Club Duck Derby postponed to September
The Rotary Club of Graham has postponed the 2020 Duck Derby to Sept. 19 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The third year of the Rotary’s annual fundraiser, Duck Derby, was scheduled to occur, today, April 18 at Firemen’s Park.
After stay-at-home orders and shelter-in-place were put into effect across the country, Rotary Club President Matt Hughes and the club made the decision to postpone the fundraising event until September.
“Our original date was not going to work because of COVID-19 and taking all the necessary precautions,” Hughes said. “We decided as a board, we love the event, it is a free event for the community, so we didn’t want to cancel it all together. So we rescheduled for September.”
With the event moving to the fall, the Rotary Club wants to remind the community that those that purchased ducks will still be involved in the in September race.
