In an effort to support the health and safety of students and communities, the UIL announced Friday it is suspending all UIL interscholastic competition from March 16 until March 29 due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

“We are urging our member schools and their communities to stay vigilant and take every possible precaution to remain safe and healthy,” wrote UIL Executive Director Dr. Charles Breithaupt in a press release on March 13. “We understand there is a lot of uncertainty during this unprecedented time. Please know UIL leadership is working diligently to adjust to this rapidly evolving situation and will share updates as soon as possible.”

Competitions affected in Graham include the cancellation of the GHS baseball tournament and the annual PK Relays. In soccer, district certification has been moved to April 11, with Bi-District moved to April 14.
