LCS: Humphries enters another term as Justice of The Peace
Shawn Humphries wanted to be a judge since he was in first grade and met Judge Edgar Laney.
Laney's wife was a teacher's aide in his class and Edgar was one of the longest serving Justice of the Peace's in the state of Texas.
"I grew up, I was just always around them and I watched him solve problems in the community," Humphries said. " I always found it interesting and when I moved to the lake I kept in touch with him … and I had told him 'that if he ever decided to retire that I would like to seek that position.'"
On Dec. 31, 2018, Humphries was sworn into another term as Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 for Palo Pinto County after running uncontested in the mid-term elections.
