Butch Farmer Grabs Another Hell’s Gate Bass Club Win
Graham’s Butch Farmer won the June Tournament of the Hell’s Gate Bass Club and gathered up the tournament Big Bass of 7.20-pounds. Farmer, who is a new club member, has now captured two monthly tournament wins. Farmer agreed that the hot muggy weather and stained water made locating the fish a challenge. PK’s John McCracken eased into second place while Jerry Larance, of Graham, motored into the third spot. Newcomer Mike Singletary, who has won a monthly tournament this year, slid into fourth and Mike Hallford rounded out the Top 5. Bobby Koncak collected the free entry into the July Tournament.
In the Year to Date Tournament, Mineral Well’s Don Welch, who did not fish this month, retained his lead, while Butch Farmer, with the win vaulted Bobby Koncak into second place. Perennial all-stars Barry Smith and Steve McCain are lurking in the fourth and fifth holes. Big Bass for the year remains Brian Morgan’s 9.32-pounder caught in Possum Kingdom.
The July Tournament will be fished from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the 17th at PK, with the weigh in being at 3 p.m. sharp at The Harbor low water ramp. For more information call HGBC President Bruce Ray at 214-207-6673 or Ric Hayward at 940-654-0804.
