Junior Firefighters Meet
Graford Fire and EMS will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 on Thursday, July 7. Persons age 8-18 interested in becoming a Junior Firefighter are encouraged to attend. Classes are free and will be held at the fire station on West Lee Avenue in Graford. For more information, call Linda Channer at 940-329-8161.

Buckets & Boots Music Fest/Fundraiser
The sixth annual Buckets and Boots Music Festival will be Saturday, July 9, at Graford’s Rocker B Ranch. The 2016 lineup will include Wade Bowen, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Jack Ingram and Jerry Jeff Walker. All proceeds will benefit Palo Pinto County’s volunteer firefighters. Adult tickets cost $25 and kids 12 and under will be admitted for free. The gates will open at 4:30 p.m., and shows will begin at 6 p.m. The Rocker B Ranch is located at 1125 Chaney Lane in Graford. The PK East Volunteer Fire Department and EMS Auxiliary will hold its monthly Flea Market on Saturday, July 16, at 142 La Villa Road at PK Lake. PK East VFD Fish Fry Fundraiser
The PK East Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Fish Fry Fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday at the fire station located on N. FM 2353 at PK Lake. The menu offers fried fish, french fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw, tea and dessert. The annual fundraiser helps purchase equipment and supplies to help keep PK and surrounding areas safe. Friday July 22
Water Day Camp
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Palo Pinto County will host an educational Water Day Camp for kids entering third-eighth grade from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 22. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Participants will learn about water conservation, safety, pollution, and erosion, then wrap up the day with some fun water activities. The cost of the camp is $10 per participant and will include lunch. Campers should wear clothes that can get wet and bring a towel and sunscreen. RSVP by Wednesday, July 20, to 940-659-1228 so they can get a head count for lunch.

Special Education SSA
Children up to 21 years of age with a disability living in Palo Pinto County may be eligible for services through Palo Pinto County Special Education SSA. The organization serves children with disabilities attending home school and private non-profit schools in Gordon, Graford, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto, Santo and Strawn.
