Texans who are considering a loan through the U.S. Small Business Administration for recovery from the May-June storms and flooding must apply soon. Most survivors who registered with FEMA for disaster assistance were contacted by the SBA with information on the agency’s low-interest disaster loans, as well as instructions on how to complete the loan application. The deadline to submit the application for physical damage is Aug. 10. The deadline for businesses to submit a loan application for economic injury is March 11. Disaster loan information and application forms are also available from SBA’s customer service center by calling 800-659-2955 or emailing email@example.com.

The Brazos River Authority will have a drawing for lakeside waterfowl hunting blind for the 2016-17 hunting season at Possum Kingdom. The drawing gives hunters the opportunity to use a site to set up waterfowl hunting blinds on the reservoir. The drawing for Possum Kingdom Lake will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Possum Kingdom Lake Office, 301 Observation Point Road in Graford. The Brazos River Authority hosts a boater safety course, which those born after Sept. 1, 1993 are required to take before operating boats of a certain size. The Possum Kingdom Lake class takes place from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Lake Office, 301 Observation Point Road in Graford. Children up to 21 years of age with a disability living in Palo Pinto County may be eligible for services through Palo Pinto County Special Education SSA.
