Open Door Christian School will host their annual Fall Fest this Saturday, Oct. 8 from 2-9 p.m. at 735 Oak St. in Graham. The Fall Fest is a family friendly event with games for adults and children of all ages. Tickets are 50 cents each and can be purchased on location during the event for affordable family fun. Activities include hay rides, face painting, car smashing, rock climbing and more. Activities will range in cost from one to 10 tickets per event. Several artisan vendors at the festival will have a variety of items for sale including unique home decor, clothing, accessories, handmade jewelry and Christmas-themed yard decor. Local and out-of-town food vendors will provide options such as hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, baked potatoes, hot dogs, snow cones, funnel cakes and more. The students at ODCS anticipate this event every year. “They are so excited. We have chapel on Wednesdays and Mr. Guice has been talking about the games at Fall Fest this year,” said ODCS Secretary LeAnn Stetson. All proceeds from the event fund upgrades at the Open Door. “The proceeds go toward the school. In the past we have done things such as technology and security upgrades,” Stetson said. ODCS was founded in 1986 under its original name, First Street Christian School, by Linda Pippin. In 1989 the school’s name was changed to Open Door Christian School. The school teaches children from pre-K to sixth grade.
