DSHS distributes vaccines for twelfth week to providers

DSHS allocating vaccine doses to area, administers over five million doses

The Texas Department of State Health Services tasked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ship 676,280 first doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 522 providers during the twelfth  week of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Aside from large vaccine hubs, additional vaccines are still being distributed to smaller providers in other parts of the state including Young County for a fourth week in a row.

DSHS announced last week that weather conditions affected shipments throughout the state which were intended for the week of Feb. 15. The department showed more than 100,000 first doses and 300,000 second doses awaiting shipment last week.

Area providers which will be receiving the vaccine doses this week are United Pharmacy in Young County (200 Moderna doses), Iowa Park Clinic in Wichita County (200 Moderna doses), Wichita Falls Local Health District in Wichita County (1,000 Moderna doses), Throckmorton Rural Health Clinic in Throckmorton County (100 Moderna doses), Resourcecare in Stephens County (100 Moderna doses), DSHS Mineral Wells in Palo Pinto County (100 Moderna doses), Palo Pinto County Hospital District in Palo Pinto County (100 Moderna doses) and Eagle Pharmacy in Archer County (100 Moderna doses).
