Fourth week vaccine distribution to hit Young County

The Texas Department of State Health Services tasked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ship COVID-19 vaccines to more than 949 providers in 158 Texas counties during the fourth week of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Adjoining counties received their first doses during the previous allocation and Young County was set to receive more doses during the fourth week allocation.

The CDC was set to deliver 167,300 doses of the vaccine manufactured by Moderna and 37,050 doses of the Pfizer vaccine statewide to providers during the fourth week of distribution. An additional 121,875 doses of the Pfizer vaccine will go to the federal Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program which had vaccinations start Monday, Dec. 28, under the program. The program is a CDC partnership with CVS, Walgreens and Managed Health Care Associates, Inc., to offer on-site COVID-19 vaccination services for residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, according to the CDC. The CDC stated in the second week under the program the organization will serve staff and residents at 770 long-term-care facilities.

Graham Health Care and Urgent Care was set to receive 100 Moderna vaccine doses during the fourth week of distribution. United Supermarkets Pharmacy, in Graham, was also set to receive 100 Moderna vaccine doses during the fourth week of distribution. The DSHS Archer City and Mineral Wells offices were set to receive 100 Moderna vaccine doses during the fourth week of distribution. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice Walker Sayle Unit and the Breckenridge Medical Center were set to receive 100 Moderna vaccine doses during the fourth week of distribution in Stephens County. City Drug Store of Jacksboro was set to receive 100 Moderna vaccine doses during the fourth week of distribution.
