A 16-hour day of donations to nonprofits in a 24-county area is the purpose of the Texoma Gives program that will be occurring on Sept. 7, with many nonprofits in Young County already on the list.

The registration deadline for nonprofits to register for the event will be July 1, and to participate the non-profit must meet certain conditions. Nonprofits can sign up for free at texoma gives.org and will be listed online by county.

In Young County, eight nonprofit organizations are currently signed onto the program. The nonprofits currently on the program include the Humane Society of Young County, Graham Area United Way, North Central Texas College Foundation, Graham Habitat for Humanity, Graham Area Crisis Center, Olney Senior Cub Center, Turning Point and Bethel Children's Day Care Center.

The organization has to be a 501c3 public charity that is located in the Texoma counties, which include Archer, Baylor, Clay, Childress, Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Haskell, Jack, King, Knox, Montague, Stonewall, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise and Young counties. The organization cannot be a church, booster club or parent teacher organization, but school foundations are welcome.

Donations made on Sept. 7 will be tax deductible. Donations may be given starting at 6 a.m. and will be open until 10 p.m. Nonprofits will be searchable by name and county on the Texoma Gives website and the minimum donation will be $25 with no maximum donation.

The organization will accept credit or debit card donations from their website and you do not need to live the Texoma area to donate.

To donate by phone, contact the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation office from 8 a.m. through 7 p.m. on Sept. 7 at 940-766-0829, and the donation will be taken over the phone or you may visit the nonprofit’s location and make your donations.
