Ballot filing open for nine entities

Filing for a place on the May 4 election ballot is open for nine entities serving citizens of Young County, the deadline to file is Friday, Feb 15 at 5 p.m.

Entities in Young County with seats up for election are city of Graham, Graham Independent School District, Graham Hospital District, city of Olney, Olney ISD, Olney-Hamilton Hospital District, city of Newcastle, Newcastle ISD and Baylor County Water District.

Up for reelection on the  Graham City Council are Kyle Peavy and Lee Boyd. Applications can be filed in person at Graham City Hall located at 429 Fourth St.

The seats for Place 3,4 and 5 are up for election for the GISD school board and a special election for Place 6 has been called. Those seats are currently being held by Steve Jones, Stan Peavy, Pat Martin and Dan De La Cruz. Applications can be filed in person at the GISD Administration building located at 400 Third St.
